NOW TO MY AMAZEMENT, I AM CHUCKLING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK WEEK AFTER WEEK WITH My PILES OF 1$ BILLS. I AM HAVING FUN AT THE SAME TIME AND WISHING THAT I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS SOONER! THIS IS LONG, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ IT ALL NOW, JUST "COPY AND PASTE", IT IS
SOOO WORTH IT! DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, JUST TRY IT!
How to turn $6 into $6,000!
READING THIS COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE! SO JUST DO IT! This really works!
Hello, I’m like a lot of others out there who have
financial woes and I decided to try something new. If it works for me then I will be able to get myself out of a very difficult financial situation. Please read and see what results another got, it's pretty exciting!
It REALLY CAN MAKE YOU EASY MONEY!! IT WORKS!!!
BUT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER FOR IT TO WORK!!!!
I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it. A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with
only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought,
"Yeah right, this must be a scam", but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands)
No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured: "what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right?" Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!... Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.... Also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something
so easy!
Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully!
(Print it out or download it.)
Follow the simple directions and watch the money
come in! It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $6.00 (Plus postage)
IMPORTANT: This is not indecent; it is not illegal; and it is virtually no risk - it really works!!!! If all of the following instructions are adhered to, you will receive extraordinary dividends. PLEASE NOTE: Please follow these directions EXACTLY, and $50,000 or more can be yours in 20 to 60 days. This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. Please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. You will now become part of the Mail Order business.
In this business your product is not solid and tangible, it's a service. You are in the business of developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. however, the money made from the mailing lists is secondary to the income, which is made from people like you and me asking to
be included in that list.
Here are the 3 easy steps to success:
STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper
"PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST."
Now get 6 US $1.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope (to prevent thievery). Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying
for it! Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed legal! Mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses:
#1) D.Blakeman 7400 Glenleaf #179 Shreveport, LA 71129
#2) J.maxey 355 N. Manilla, Fresno, CA. 93727
#3) C. Lyons P.O. Box 69645 Los Angeles, CA. 90069-0645
#4) RJ K. Murpay 850 E. Walnut #173 Grapevine, Tx 76051
#5) Candice Messinger 5216 Old Powell rd. Holly Springs, NC 27540
#6) Tim DeMeerleer 105 N. Main st.Rear Kennett, MO 63857
STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc.) and add YOUR Name as number 6 on the list.
STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to 24,000 groups)All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make!
This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to Title 18 Sec. 1302 & 1341 of the Postal laws. Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and, whenever you need money, you can use it again, and again. PLEASE REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants and by their carefully adhering to the directions. Look at
it this way. If you are of integrity, the program will continue and the money that so many others have received will come your way.
NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you, either on a computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send you. This VERIFIES that you are truly providing a service.
(Also, it might be a good idea to wrap the $1 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail theft.)
So, as each post is downloaded and the directions
carefully followed, six members will be reimbursed for their participation as a List Developer with one dollar each. Your name will move up the list geometrically so that when your
name reaches the #1 position you will be receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!! What an opportunity for only $6.00 ($1.00 for each of the first six people listed above)
Send it now, add your own name to the list and you're in business!
---DIRECTIONS -----
FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS
Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer’s memory.

Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can
add your name to the list.
Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always have this file to go back to.
Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.)
Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the
header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with your first one!
Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup!
**REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200**
That's it! You will begin receiving money from around the world within days! You may eventually want to rent a P.O.Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it.
**JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT. **
HOW IT WORKS:
Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example).
So then I made $5.00 with my name at #6 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $625.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the
latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are
joining the Internet and reading these articles everyday? JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So, can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when
there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the Internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual Internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will really work. God bless you!
I'm getting bored with SciFi and it's need to have incredibly repetative commercials, reruns of brand new shows (why do new shows have reuns already wtf?).

They arent the ONLY ones guilty of this, most of the other cable and network channels .... I'm getting bored with the repeating shows. The same two or three movies and shows over and over and over.

And if Vonage doesnt get a new freakin' commercial I'm going to have to go postal on them. That red headed chick with the pinchy nose and the little squeaky mouth annoys me.

I mean, it's not only SciFi that is doing this .... Discovery, Food Network, TLC, Fox ..... they are all doing this. I realize it's the off season and it's also pre-fall but there are more than 1 or 2 episodes to every show. Show them all.

I'm sure there are people who love the show but I can't imagine there are so many that it justifies playing it this often.
Flash Blasts Off Again

SCI FI Channel has green-lighted production on Flash Gordon, a series based on the popular comic-strip franchise, the channel announced Jan. 12 at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

Production on the 22 one-hour episodes begins in Canada early this year. The series, produced by Reunion Pictures, is slated to debut on SCI FI in July, with a broadcast syndication window to follow.

The series will be produced under an agreement between King Features Syndicate, which owns the rights to Flash Gordon, and Robert Halmi Sr. and Robert Halmi Jr. (The Legend of Earthsea).

The characters of Ming, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov will be brought back for a contemporary retelling of the comic-strip story created in 1934 by Alex Raymond. The strip is still distributed internationally by King Features Syndicate.

First and Foremost, a great deal of admiration and accommodation goes out to The Fire Poise Dancers, Performers and the DJ’s. Magnificent and thrilling performances, and it was all of you that gave us the motivation behind our setup.

Secondly, my appreciation and high regards to the providers of the astonishingly extravagant art. Without it, we would have only had a blank canvas. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thirdly, to all those that volunteered their time, effort and gave so much of themselves not only to benefit our effort, but to enlighten the experience of all of the internally beautiful people in attendance! Much gratitude and appreciation are bestowed on you from me and all of us.

Finally, thank you BRC committee and rangers for their efforts in organizing and putting this thing all together. We love you and we when we think about you, we’re already half way home!

Am I forgetting anyone? If so, please bring it to my attention and I will be glad to give you proper praise…. because everyone truly deserves it!

One Final note before I wrap this up.

I wanted to thank Bobby I and The Venice Vibe Tribe Team that participated in setting up this event. Thank you Bobby I for taking on such wonderful projects, giving so much of yourself (and your cash), working with us every step of the way and for being our fearless leader. When I see you happy it makes everything all worth wild!

To my Fellow Venice Vibe Tribe Members: Working, living, socializing and just simply being with you makes life so much better. You are my family and my friends. You are the best, most wonderful people I have met since I started riding this rock around the sun over 34 years ago. All of my hopes and dreams stem from ideas that are inspired by each and every one of you. I am forever your friend, your Marine and your motivation! I love you and look forward to our next venture!

Fair winds and following seas to everyone, and we will see you sooner then you know at The Cre8tivitY Warehouse in Venice!

Peace & Gods Blessings to you all!

I have most of all episodes recorded on VHS and the one thing I like to know why did the Sci Fi channel shreds the reruns. The theme would always play first and that too was shreded, and then when you start watching the show you noticed that some parts where edited out of the show. Is that done so they can play more stupid moron commericials. Why cant they air the show when it first aired in 1978. On that is out in dvd in the UK which I find stupid to begin with, are the episodes show like when it aired or are they shreded. I say keep the rerun in the way they should be shown, like the first time.

Mega Culture

Warning this is a conspiracy theory

What ever happen to the Science Fiction Genre? Excepted for Star Track/Star Wars books on the bottom shelve at the bookstore it’s all but gone. TV, movies and best publishers will tell you it just doesn’t sell anymore. But why’s that? Most of the same people are still alife that were 10 years ago. Convention and chat groups are still going strong. So what happen?
What happen was the block-buster. Publishers don’t want a paperback, movie or TV show that sells well, they want a block-buster. They thought they’d found the answer with the “Mega-genre”. Why not make a science fiction/fantasy/thriller/horror/techno thriller? Put all of these genres together in one movie/book and you’ve got a block-buster every time.
Now this may not seem like a really a bad thing in and of itself. Sometimes those cross overs can turn out well, and be fun. The problem is that it take most of the money and puts into one kind of movie, paperback,tv show. Add to this that a block-buster has to be just so long, and not longer or shoter, movies 85 – 100 minutes, a paper back book has to be a trilogy, and so on. Also it not just a cross over of Science Fiction and something else, it SF and everything else, all in one package. Also when ever there is a hit, big money comes in and try to “impove” it. They try to add in anything that has ever work or any movie, book or TV show, added in reguridless to if it fits into the world or culture that is being portrayed. So you wind up with bad Star War movies and classic TV remade into a main line move by writers that never saw the orginal show.
Still there should be some money left over. There are still some of us in each of these genre that like what we like, not a diluted high-bread. But wait, if you’re a producer making a Mega-genre block-buster you need to get all the genre, you can’t have competitors diluting you audience. So buy the rights to Star Track and make a really bad movie. So it doesn’t sell don’t let that stop you. but will keep the contract so no one else can make a good one. Put out a Firefly movie, but don’t advertise it, see it doesn’t sell, but out of the goodness of our hart will buy off the author with a 10 year contract and put that on the back shelve.
Results, well we all have to go to the same Horror/Science Fiction/Comic book/Fantasy/Spy/Love Story/est. movie/paper back/TV show, because there’s nothing else on the markit. I guess I’ll see you all there.

An Idea/My Personal Plan to save the Sci Fi channel

I have noticed a few postings here recently about the quality....or lack there of...of programming and a general overall sense of the Corp Powers that be over at the conglomeration that owns the Sci Fi Channel of "We don't give a crap" about the viewers

Well, I thought of an idea/personal plan/suggestion of what I think would make the Network better than it is and maybe spark an overall move to sci fi channel "greatness"....
Now mind you...this is MY personal thoughts...please feel free to add/suggest/make your our point too.
Here goes....

***Attention Corporate Powers that be!****
Dear Sirs and Madams
I and may other Sci Fi Fans have really noticed a lack of quality shows and movies at the Sci Fi channel....we all feel that you have not only abandoned us as Sci Fi/Fantasy Fans, we also feel that the channel has lost it's way as a true scource of all things Sci Fi (Case in point...WWE on the Sci Fi channel? What are you thinking people?!?!?).
I would like to suggest a way to get back on track and make this Channel a truely great place for those whose intrest in Sci Fi/Fantasy range from cursory to the Sci Fi Geek/Fanboy/Fangirl who really want good stuff!
Please read and take to heart

1.) Retro Sci Fi
How about having a time period dedicated to Retro Sci Fi or Old School Sci Fi? Like: The Twightlight Zone, Outer Limits, Lost In Space, Flash Gordon, Buck Rodgers..as well as other really truly great movies that date back to the 40-ies & 50-ies, like: Earht Vs The Flying Saucers, Forbiden Planet, This Island Earth, The (original)Thing, 20 Million Miles to Earth, etc, etc, etc...let the sci fi fans revel in and appreciate what Sci Fi was all about back when is was ALL total Camp and full of "innocence"!

2.) How about having a time period dedicated to old Sci Fi and fantasy tv shows? Again, from the 60-ies, 70-ies, 80-ies (and dare I say it?...) the 90-ies too? The Old Battlestar Galactica, Manimal, The Man From Atlantis, Wonderwoman, Batman, Alf, Space 1999, UFO, Project Bluebook, The X-files, Space Above and Beyond, The Invisible Man, etc, etc...(Keep in mind these are just a few of the names of shows that come off the top of my head here)

3.) How about making the Sci Fi Channel the "Official Home" of the entire Star Trek series?
and show them all (I mean, come ON here!! Nothing say sci fi like Star Trek..why it went to the Game Show Network is beyond me!)

4.) How about having a time period dedicated to Foreign Sci Fi and Fantasy? Sci Fi is NOT only loved, enjoyed and created by Americans and the British....I am sure that there are many good quality shows out there that need to be exposed and enjoyed by the Sci Fi fans who watch the channel

5.) How about having a time period or weekend time frame dedicated to ALL things Japanese Monster-wise? I talking all the greats here...like Godzilla/Gojira, Mothra, Gamera and all the others that made an impression on me as a child and to this day...I still love watching! Also, what about TV shows like Ultraman, Space Giants and all those other campy, man in a suit shows that are so bad they are good!?!

6.) How about showing Anime? Again, there are SO many great old school shows (Star Blazers comes to mind here) as well as new stuff that we Americans NEVER see...and I think the Sci Fi Channel would be a HUGE outlet/source of exposure

7.) How spending a little more money for those "Made for Sci-Fi Channel/An Original Sci Fi Channel" Movie...and actually making those movies with better special effects and better plotlines too? (I mean Man-squito, Manticore and The Man With The Screaming Brain? Come on you guys! If they were made intentionally bad that is one thing...but I do NOT think that was the case here!)

8.) Take a chance and actually go "out on a linmb" and maybe make some original Sci Fi Shows that speak to the fans! (The New) Battlestar Galactica and Eureka are good starts...let's ramp it up and make more shows like these are perhaps...better more interesting and more cutting edge!!

9.) How about funding a "Project Greenlight" type show for the Sci Fi Channel and search for the new James Cameron/ Steven Spielberg/ George Lucas/ Guillermo Del Toro? Movie and/or Animation-wise?

10.) How about having shows...actual shows that feature and are dedicated to the Sci Fi industry? Remember that little show you guys USE to have on back in the early days where you had a normal host on the show and he would have people/correspondents who would interview famous people in the Sci Fi biz...like Directors, Authors, Actors, give you an inside peak at movies and shows and also talk about the latest goings on in the Sci Fi and Fantasy area? (One thing though....I hated...hated...HATED that jerk Harlan Ellison, what an asshole he WAS!)
Also, maybe do a show on Hi Tech Gadgets too?

This is my basic "10 point" plan/suggestion to help save this Network
It is not perfect and I am sure that there is a LOT more that needs to be added to this list.
But come on you guy (The people who run the Network I mean), show some respect to US...the Sci Fi Fans who enjoy and really love this field.

Make this Network something we can all be happy about, something that makes us all want to rush home a few days out of the week to catch some great programming or relive our childhood and remember what it is like to A.) Be a Kid again and C.)Make us remember why we love Sci Fi and Fantasy stuff!

If you need someone to take over programming and make a go at turning things around? Well, I wholeheartedly volunteer for this Job right away!

******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Ok, so!!
What do you guys think?
Thoughts, opinions, suggestions??
:)
Many of those who like the latest (and worst) episode of Stargate Atlantis probably have never seen stories about folks who've been tricked into believing their entire existence is a delusion. I, however, have seen many, many, many stories with that same, boring done-to-death theme because I frequently read and see SF.

The quality of programming on Sci-Fi Chanel is rapidly declining. From nonstop monster monster flicks to the recent capstone: wrestling! It's almost as though the CEO (whoever that is) doesn't take the concept of science fiction seriously.

As little as two years ago we were seeing productions of Earthsea and Dune. Not as good as the books, of course, but good efforts. SG-1 was then in its seventh season and had recently gotten Michael Shanks back in the cast. Things looked good.

Then, suddenly, the channel began a steady descent. Script quality on the mainstay shows (with the exception of Battlestar Galactica, which is still firmly in Moore's hands) went downhill, and cheezy monster films became standard filler. What happened?

I suspect that whoever's in charge of programming is not a reader. That would explain a lot.

The late Roger Zelazny said, "Science Fiction writers treat with people, things and events in terms of possible consequences." The Sci-Fi Channel is not doing this. The management is treating science fiction as an offhand subject, something to dealt with quickly, and gotten out of the way. That kind of attitude gives you low-grade crap like "Starlost" or "Galactica 1980". Only careful, generous, literate writing will produce wonders like "Babylon 5" or Ronald D. Moore's new "Battlestar Galactica".

Sci-Fi Channel has lost its way, but, chances are no one will notice until things get much worse!

For those of you who aren't aware, and since I see no postings on Tribe, other than in the Babylon 5 area, Andreas passed away in February from cancer. JMS's words on the subject can be found in the Babylon 5 forum.
I am going to relevant forums and posting the link to the video tribute for those who might have missed it. Also, there is a campaign to have him included in the Oscar memorials next year.
http://www.thegalacticgateway.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=875
If you have a moment, follow the link to the Oscar site and put in a word for him:

http://www.oscars.org/contact/general.html

Here was the recommendation of the person who posted the Oscar link:
"My suggestion is that you do not emphasize his role as G'Kar, as that is connected to a television show, and the Academy is all about film. Instead, remind them that Andreas was well known for playing "bad guys" or "heavies," like the one-armed man from "The Fugitive," but also in "Executive Decision," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "The Sicilian," etc. etc. You can find a list of his film credits here: http://imdb.com/name/nm0441537/ "

I recently dreamed that I saw an episode of Deep Space Nine that I'd never seen before. In this episode, Worf gets really pissed off at how the war with the Dominion is going, and so he decides to contact a mysterious alien race in the Gamma quadrant that's been rumored to have a military technology that could turn the tide of the war. Though Sisko doesn't authorize it, Worf goes ahead and seeks out that alien race by going through the stargate. (I know there's no stargates on DS9, but that's what happened in the dream.) Sisko knows that Worf is likely to disobey his orders, so he has the stargate reprogrmmed so it'll send Worf to a friendly planet where he'll later get picked up by starship and sent back to DS9. But Worf works around that and gates to the forbidden Gamma Quadrant planet anyway. Once there, he makes contact with the mysterious alien race and succesfully persuades them to fight the Dominion.

Yup! That's some weird stuff. And yes, I also know how nonsensicle the premise behind this unreal DS9 episode is. But it was a dream, therefore it doesn't have to make sense.

And then in one episode, Jordan(Lord) and Cade were trying to search this room...and to keep other people out of there, they pretended they were having sex. So here she is making all the porn-flick sex sounds....just cracked me up.
