I say the latest episode of Stargate Atlantis is the best sign that the Sci Fi Channel is going down hill. I saw the exact same episode on Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Why do these writers have to ripoff the worst and most done-to-death ideas?!?

Sat, August 19, 2006 - 4:39 PMI don't watch SGA, but I saw the preview, and from you r comments I have a general idea what the episode was about. Wasn't there also an episode of Star Trek: TNG along the same lines, with Riker in a mental institution being told that there was no Enterprise?

Mon, August 21, 2006 - 2:34 AMUnfortunately, lots of sci-fi ideas are taken from old Twilight Zone or whatever books that most of us have read, but everyone else has forgotten. As for sci-fi going downhill, read some of the earlier posts about wrestling on sci-fi.

the "None of this is real, you are crazy" premise was also used this season on Smallville, and i do remember the Buffy episode and the ST:TNG episode where they did that, too.
that is a bit ubiquitous. -

Re: Suckiet piece of suck!
Sat, March 17, 2007 - 11:40 PMSGA has always been an ersatz show, and I gave up after the pilot episode.
The reason the shows always recycle ideas is because they know they can get away with it! Too many people are willing to accept *Cheap* Sci-Fi; the biggest endorsers of that, of course, are the TV execs. They like it because it means they can hire marginal writers, who will work for peanuts. REAL writers demand REAL money, and that's too important to allocate to yachts and caviar!
